Glasgow, Scotland, UK. 21st August, 2017. A number of protestors from the LGBTI community demonstrate outside Glasgow Sheriff Court today, after five activists were arrested during anti-fascist and anti-capitalist protests at Glasgow's annual parade on Saturday afternoon (19th August), whose arrests they claim were unjustified. Police Scotland confirmed that a 16-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man were arrested and taken into custody for allegedly breaching the peace with homophobic aggravation, obstruction, and resisting arrest, and that a 19-year-old man and two women of 23 and 28 were also arrested and detained for alleged breach of the peace. Pride Glasgow said that the parade was one of the largest ever to be held in the city, with over 90 floats and groups alongside over 6,000 individuals, and that it is "extremely disappointed in the actions of a small group of people." Its written response via social media has itself provoked strong opinion. Iain McGuinness / Alamy Live News
