The engineer statesthat he was standing at the water end of the high pressure side greasingthe guides and plungers when the engine began pounding rushed to the throttle valve and closed it, but was not in time toprevent the engine from wrecking itself. The initial break ap-pears to have been inthe strap on the crankend of the connectingrod. This break showsvery clearly in the il-lustration on the frontcover.
