Range.—Whole of North America, but chieflyin the eastern and central parts, breeding aboutthe ponds and stieams of Labrador and HudsonBay, and northwa-rd. These little Sandpipers areabundant during the migrations either in marshesor on beaches. They are most often found incompany with other species, such as the Spottedand Least Sandpipers. Tlieir appearance is verysimilar to that of the Least Sandpipers, but theyare slightly larger and the feet are partiallywebbed. Their eggs have a greenish buff or gray-ish groun
