The Geysers ofSonoma county are a very striking example, and no place on the Pacifiecoast is more fraught with interest to the scientific student, and none sowell repays a visit from the tourist and pleasure-seeker. The Vichy hotsprings, a few miles east of Ukiah City, well up from a bed of lava chargedwith sulphur, soda, and iron, coming evidently from the region of some longsince extinguished crater. A wonderful exhibition of volcanic action can beseen a few miles east of Booneville, in Anderson valley, on the road leading.
