Gibraltar. 20th Oct, 2015. The Gibraltar Island Games Association, accompanied by Minister for Sport Steven Linares today announced that the 2019 Island Games will be hosted in Gibraltar. Following a decision yesterday by the Islands Games international committee Gibraltar was pronounced as the preferred bidder for the 2019 sporting event. Gibraltar last hosted the Islands Games in 1995. The Gibraltar Island Games will host 14 sports, 12 of which were today announced. Gibraltar is among the smallest Islands to host the games, although it is itself not considered a geographical island. © Stephe
