The manor be-longed to the Crown, and it is said that both Edward Iand Edward III visited it. The building was in a verydilapidated condition, and the owner intended to destroyit and replace it with modern cottages. We hope thatthis scheme has now been abandoned, and that the oldhouse is safe for many years to come.
