The Passage Brady usually refered as Little India was built in 1828. In this passage of the 10th arrondissement we can find curry houses, spice shops, fabric bazaars as well as incense and religious statues shops. The Parisian covered passages were built between the late 18th century and the mid-19th century in order to house shops and restaurants. These arcades covered with glass roofs connecting two streets were an architectural innovation at that time. From the 150 galleries that existed in 1850 only 20 remain nowadays. Each passage has its own special character and they have become a typical Parisian feature.
