Confucianism, which dominates the Chinaman's life, being, properly speaking, a code of ethics. Yet many religions exist in China, among which are Buddhism, Mahommedanism (Islam) and Taoism." Herbert George Ponting was a photographer from England. He was best known for being the photographer and cinematographer for Robert Falcon Scott's Terra Nova Expedition to the Ross Sea and South Pole.
