Fontaine des Quatre-Dauphins – this Fountain of the Four Dolphins, symbol of the Mazarin Quarter, was built in 1667 and originally called fontaine Saint-Michel. This was the city’s first fountain built in a public square. Carved by sculptor Jean-Claude Rambot the fountain of the Four Dolphins and consists of a circular basin made of stone of Sainte Baume, whose center is occupied by an offset obelisk and supported by four dolphins. Their fins are carved in Calissanne. The top of the obelisk is adorned with a golden lily, a pine cone and then a Maltese cross made by the sculptor Servian after the Second World War.
