Of remarkably handsome foliage and interesting flowers, producing a striking effect in the borde r as a back-ground, or as centers of beds. The seeds may be sown in the open border, or in a hot-bed, which is recommended; transplant about the first week in June. Produces tho most attractive and brilliant foliage upon poor soil; transplant to twenty inches. Half hardy. Tricolor—Red, yellow and green foliage; two feet 5 Caudatus (Love Lies Bleeding]—Long drooping 'chains' of flowers; pretty for decorating 5 All Kinds Mixed 5 BALSAM. Balsams. "Lady Slippers," "Touch=Me=Nots.' These are old favorites with everyone, owing to their hand- some double flowers, brilliant colors and stately growth. To produce very double flowers they must be transplanted into a rich soil in a sunny position and frequently watered. Cut- ting out some of the side branches is also advisable, espec- ially with tho strong and bushy growing varieties. They can be pruued to any form desired, to two or three, or even one branch. Tender Annuals. CANDYTUFT. A beautiful and useful plant of the earliest culture, for growing in beds or masses. Fine for bouquets.
