Children flying kites from the iron age fort on White Horse Hill, near Uffington, Wiltshire. The kites are silhouetted against a storny sky reminding us of Benjamin Franklin's experiment where he flew a kite in a thunderstorm in order to investigate whether lightning was an electrical phenomenon. It would be very dangerous to perform such an experiment if you were holding the kite's string.
