More than four timesthat number had enlisted of their own ac-cord. The total number of men enlistedin Canada by the government was 611,741,but the 14,590 Britisii and allied reservistswho went to join their national armies,swelled the number to 626,331. Of thisgrand total, 432,642 men actually wentoverseas.
