An M an XII pistol for general staff officers, Le Page, Paris, circa 1809. Octagonal rifled barrel in 17 mm calibre, with the maker's inscription in gold, "Arquebusier de S. Mte.", and the inscription, "no 163" on top of the barrel. Colour case-hardened, converted percussion lock with another maker's inscription. Walnut full stock with smooth iron furniture and a silver pommel cap in the shape of a Medusa's head. Wooden ramrod with iron tip. Iron parts are pitted and stained in places, with a small crack on the side plate. Shows signs of age and use. Length 36 ,
