While the show was unquestionably good, there have been many others equally strong in competitive exhibits and in non-com- petitive retail displays, but there never has been an exhibition in America that was viewed by anything like so large a percentage of the people of the city in which it was held. Nor has there ever been a local autumn show that attracted so large a number of trade visitors. Indeed, the attendance of the trade was larger than in the case of any of the S. A. F. conventions since the one held at Chicago four years ago. How well the trade was pleased with the show was evidenced by the num- ber of cases in which one member of a firm attended early in the week and, returning home, sent his partner or employees. There were many such instances. A Big Crowd. The Cleveland flp- rists had an early start on their show—it was announced more than a year ago—and they obtained the coopera- tion of the Chrysan- themum Socie^ty of America, the American Carnation Society and the American Bose So- ctiBty. These helpecttx) make the show and, in a measure, tie attend- ance of Ihef'trade, but it was the local hustle that made the public swarm to the show like bees to a hive. * * Har- mony and Hard Work' * was the motto of the management and it was lived up to. .; ., Clevelftpd has ^ bo' really good exhibition hall. The Wigmore Coliseum is admirably located and is large enough, bat it has a 16-foot ceiling jApd row after row of eilor- mous posts.
