Ab-scesses at the apices of the lower molars often show the dark area repre-senting the abscess indistinctly, the negative having a light haze thrownover it due to the density of the oblique- ridges. Thus care must be exer-cised or absce>s areas at the apices of the lower molars—particularly thesecond and third, will be overlooked.
