The testes were,as seen in the sketch, suppliedwith spermatic arteries follow-ing their usual course. Betweenthe rectum and bladder there wasplaced a very large pear-shapedbag or pouch, /, with firm, coria-ceous, but not thick, walls, and dis-tended with fluid. This bag or imperfect cystoid uterus terminatedinferiorly by a narrow neck in a vagina that opened into the urethra 1 De Hermaphr. Nat. p. From the fundus of the large sacof the uterus, and not from its angles, but from near its middle, two impervious solid ducts (vasa deferentia) arose, and after asomewhat flexuous course reached the testicle, e c, lying in thesuperior part of the iliac fossae. These ducts had attached to themat one or two points a number of small reddish nodules, b b, con-sisting, according to Steghlener, of glandular granules, and de-scribed by Ackermann in his case as vesiculae seminales. The canalof the urethra was obliterated for a short distance towards the fossanaviculars
