This image may not be used to state or imply NOAA endorsement of any company or product Earth's weather. False-colour satellite image of the Earth, centred on the Americas. In this image, red and green channels are derived from visible light data, the blue channel from infrared data. Low level clouds appear as yellow, whilst higher clouds are seen as white. Land areas are shown either as green (good vegetation cover) or orange (mountain, semi-arid and desert areas). The data for this image were gathered by the GOES-8 weather satellite at UT, 2 September 1994.
