John Boynton Priestley Author Bradford The Good Companions (1929) English novelist, playwright and located outside the National Museum of Film and photography Boynton Priestley was born in Bradford in 1894. On the outbreak of the First World War Priestley immediately joined the British over life-size bronze figure stands overlooking the centre of Bradford on a granite plinth with a mounted bronze plaque with a quotation from Priestley's novel Bright Day 1946, chapter 2, describing an industrial city named 'Bruddersford' based on Bradford.
