Pilgrim Fathers Memorial, Boston, Lincolnshire, England
The Pilgrim Fathers' Memorial at The Scalp near Fishtoft, Boston, Lincolnshire. The memorial is near Scotia Creek where the Pilgrim Fathers are said to have set off in the Mayflower for the Netherlands before eventually completing their voyage from Plymouth, England to America, where they founded the settlement of Plymouth. However, the journal of Pilgrim Father, William Bradford, shows that most of the "pilgrims" who were captured and imprisoned in Boston, "were dismissed, and sent to the places from whence they came". The next attempt to escape from England was from Hull (Kingston upon Hull).
