Masada Mountain in Israel


A high level view of Masada Mountain in Masada National Park in the Judean Desert to the west of the Dead Sea in Israel. Herod the Great built two palaces on the mountain and fortified Masada between 37 and 31 BCE. The image shows the remnants of a square-shaped Roman encampment on the plateau.
