St Mary The Virgin Church, Furneaux Pelham, Hertfordshire, dates to the middle of the thirteenth century. Its tall tower, built of flint in the fourteenth century, is topped with a ‘Hertfordshire’ spike, but its most striking feature is its clock with a figure of Father Time and the inscriptions “TIME FLIES” and “MIND YOUR BUSINESS.”. The clock was removed from Furneux Pelham Hall in the early seventeenth century.
