BENEVOLENT FUNDS NEEDEDFOR BUDGET CAUSES Asheville Presbytery adopted a goal forbenevolent askings of the Churches for1948-1949 in the amount of $64, The Churches accepted approximately90 percent of this amount according to re-ports to Asheville Presbytery in January. Presbyterys Home Missions and TheMountain Orphanage are dependent uponthe full support of the Churches in re-mitting their share of these askings aspromptly as possible. A report from the Central Treasurer ofBenevolences is given elsewhere in thisissue. Comparative figures indicate howwell the Churches have responded for thefirst three months. Only the undesignatedfunds can be divided as all the otherfunds go as directed by the donor. If the askings for the quarter had beenmet in full, the receipts for undesignatedfunds would have been $14, As amatter of fact only. $6, was actuallyreceived. A few Churches are not listed in thisreport. None of the Churches reached theirquo
