Boses are in good supply and the qual- ity is exceptionally good for this time of year. Mrs. Russell, Sunburst, Ward and Killarney are all selling well, al- though the short-stemmed stock pre- dominates. Asters are making their appearance and the quality of the stock is good. It will take a little time, however, for them to supplant carnations on the market. Some exceptionally fine valley 13 displayed on the market, but the de- mand is small. Gladioli are in good supply and the stock is much better than the sales. Local trade is confined mostly to funeral work and the trade in general is having a much needed rest. Various Notes. H. V. Hunkel, of the Holton & Hunkel Co., left Tuesday, July 21, for an extended trip. The journey is purely for pleasure, as he states he does not expect to see the inside of a green- house until he returns. Mr. Hunkel's vacation is well earned, as he has given the business his personal supervision for a long time and by conscientious <sflfort and untiring energy has built up une of the largest greenhouse plants in the country.
