Wind turbines and sheep. Wind power is a renewable and clean source of energy for electricity production. The wind turns the blades, and this drives a turbine to generate electricity. These wind turbines, on grazing land, are part of the Penryddlan and Llidiartywaun Windfarm, near Llandinam, Powys, Wales. This wind farm has 103 turbines, has a capacity of 15 megawatts (MW) of power, and is operated by CeltPower. It was the largest wind farm in Europe when it opened in 1992. In 2008, proposals were submitted to replace these Mitsubishi turbines with 43 modern turbines.
