A burgonet, Nuremberg/Graz, circa 1580, One-piece skull with high, roped comb. Movable, pointed peak with turned and roped edge. Nuremberg proofmark on the left side of the skull. Cheek pieces sliding on several lames, the upper elements on both sides riveted on leather. Neck guard sliding on three lames with turned and roped edge. Height 35 cm. Presumably manufactured for the Graz Armoury. Numerous identical helmets can still be found in the collection of the Armoury. Cf.
