Sgt. 1st Cl. Morris Pineberg photographed the 79th Division located between Malancourt and Montfaucon in Meuse, France on September 27-30, 1918. The German dugout on the right was occupied by Major General J. E. Kuhn and the center one served as the telephone central. The was used as the division message center and was under the command of Lieutenant Colonel George S. Gillis, division signal officer. This information is verified by the censor.
