WILLIAM HENRY GREEN, , ,Clergyman, was born in Groveville, Bur-lington county. New Jersey, January 27, 1825, and 320 UNIVERSITIES AND THEIR SONS graduated at Lafayette College in 1S40. Duringthe course in theology which he took at Princetonhe engaged in teaching and was not ordained aminister until 1848. In 1S49 he became Pastor ofthe Central Presbyterian Church in Philadelphiaand two years later was appointed Professor ofOriental and Old Testament Literature in PrincetonTheological Seminary, where he has since degree of Doctor of Divinity was conferredupon him by Princeton in 1857 and Edinburgh,Scotland, in 1884, and that of Doctor of Laws byRutgers in 1873. Since 1868 he has served as one. W. HENRY GREEN of the Trustees of Princeton, declining the offer ofthe Presidency of the University which was madehim in that year. He has published a HebrewGrammar and Chrestomathy and several worksupon the books of the Old Testament.
