Private Collins of the 305th Signal Battalion is seen in this photograph taken on October 5, 1918, in Bethincourt, Meuse, France. Collins is in his dugout at Division Headquarters, writing a letter to his relatives during World War I. The dugout was previously used by German forces. The photograph was approved by the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) censor, however, the exact date of the censor's approval is unknown. Image ID: 111-SC-24880.
