Graves of Jannat ul Baqi Madinah Saudi Arabia This is the cemetery where people of Madinah put their dead to rest since the days of the Prophet pbuh Many members of the family of the Prophet pbuh are buried here Along with approx 10 000 companions sahabi and 1000 s of followers tabi in scholars and others Jannat ul Baqi means Tree garden of Heaven Prior to the twentieth century many of the graves were covered with domes or other structures but those have been removed over time Now the graves are only marked with a rock
