Sgt. 1st Class Joanna Carter, Army Human Resources Command, renders a hand salute during the final portion of a phase II appearance board at Fort Knox, Ky., Mar. 10. Carter was one of five Soldiers competing for a spot on the unit's Honor Guard team. During the selection board Soldiers were asked questions on topics ranging from Military history to funeral honors. They were also asked to perform ceremonial facing movements they would use during various events.
