Tarn Hows is a much loved beauty spot that sits in an elevated position above Coniston. Its popularity stems from the close proximity of a car park and a well maintained path that circles the tarn. This image was taken on a changeable winter's day with few people around. The local wildlife was abundant, though, as a pair of ducks were intent on swimming through the thirty second exposure, which resulted in several failed attempts to get the shot! Also a young deer, oblivious to my presence, strolled out from the woods on the opposite bank to drink from the shallows.
