Blackthroat triplefin (Enneapterygius atrogulare), female camouflaged in weeds; males have a black head mask. Frequents reef and rubble areas.


Frequents reef and rubble areas, algal covered rocks and weedy areas. Feeds on small invertebrates and algae. Dorsal fin of this family is divided into three parts, with the first section being the shortest. White patch on snout aids identification. Grows to 5 cm.
