Rock Flower Co., says there were bad impres- sions left with customers who had to pay more than they felt they should for gifts made through pure sentiment. Mr. Rock would like to sec a standard price for carnations for Mothers' day all over the country, so that an order could be sent from coast to coast with a cer- tainty of price. He believes that ear- nations can be grown anywhere in this country to sell with profit at $3 a dozen. Arthur Newell believes the sentiment of Mothers' day will turn from tlowers to more jiractical gifts if prices are be- yond ordinary reach. W. J. -Barnes heard several persons remark about high prices and scarcity of stock and say, in effect, "If we can't get flowers, what is the use of trying to celebrate the day?" Joseph Austin says $3 is enough for a dozen carnations.
