– VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (May 24, 2017) Danene Birtell, oil programs director for Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research Inc. (Tri-State) looks on as Michelle Carrera, response resources specialist for Tri-State, releases a snapping turtle back into its habitat at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia, June 24, 2017. Animals were recovered by Department of Agriculture from areas affected by the Wolfsnare Creek fuel spill. They were rehabilitated by Tri-State veterinarians at a specialized facility in Delaware.
