The event was pegged to the launch of Martin Bell's new book 'A Very British Revolution: The Expenses Scandal and How to Save Our Democracy' (Icon books. paper back October 2009.) Both argued for vociferously opposed points of view whilst Martin Bell has been highly critical of MP's, Richards was much more forgiving maintaining that MP's were encouraged to view expenses as a legitimate supplement to their salaries and that many of them are extremely hard working and committed to advancing the interests and concerns of their constituents needless to say the Bellites vastly outnumbered the Richites. Bell also observed when prompted that the signature white suit had less to do with virtue than superstition he believed it kept from harm something he is still exposed to inspite of his 71 years at home and abroad as UNICEF's current UK ambassador. 22nd October 2009. - 77598 NCD - *World Rights*
