The Southbank Centre hosts the Big Wedding Weekend, 2nd annual event which sees couples get married, renew vows, or, thanks to a new change to the law, convert a civil partnership into a marriage. The first event took place last year to celebrate same-sex marriage becoming legal, with some 70 couples taking part. Three ceremonies a day with up to 20 couples saying their vows on stage at each time.
