Image shows two posters beside Inle Lake near Nyuangshwe in Shan State Myanmar (Burma) advertising th ePhaung Daw Oo Pagoda fetial which takes place every September/October. Four tiny Buddha statues, now so covered in gold leaf they are unrecognisable, are carried from the Pagoda ceremoniously across the lake to the main villages, where they are greatly revered. Traditional leg-rowing races take place, funfairs, dancing and other events.
