Squadron Leader H S L 'Cocky' Dundas, Commanding Officer of No 56 Squadron RAF, at Duxford, Cambridegshire. Dundas shot down at least 6 enemy aircraft in the United Kingdom between 1940 and 1943. He assumed commmand of 56 Squadron in December 1941, and in 1943 he was posted to the Malta to lead No. 244 Wing RAF through the Sicilian and Italian Campaigns. In 1944 he became one of the youngest Group Captains in the RAF and, by the end of the war, had increased his total of victories to 11.

He was the brother of J C Dundas who was killed during the Battle of Britain.
