'Togu Na', or 'talking / meeting house', with villagers inside; Bandiagara escarpment, Pays Dogon, Mali. Every Dogon village has a 'Togu Na', which is used as a place to discuss important issues and resolve conflicts. The ceiling is deliberately low so that people are obliged to remain seated and discuss calmly; a way of diffusing possible anger.
