SOUTH WICK, , BObTOX. Lecturer on Gynaecology, Boston University School of Medicine.(Read before the Massachusetts Homoeopathic Medical Society, October, 1899.) Conservatism rather than radicalism is the keynote ofmodern gynaecology, and nowhere has this principle beenmore emphasized than in the treatment of salpingitis. Themere presence of this disease is not an indication for acute cases undergo resolution and cure with appro-priate treatment. This is especially true when the tube is dis-tended by non-septic material, and the writer has seen recoveryeven in severe cases following gonorrhoea. These facts war-rant delay in operating for acute salpingitis unless urgent symp-toms are present. Pyosalpinx, pus in the Fallopian tube, veryoften requires surgical aid, and the problem is not so much howto remove the pus, but rather how to treat the case with theleast mutilatiohahnemannian35homo
