The Rheims-Douay version of 1582-1610 islong obsolete, both in text and notes, though the ordinarytitle-pages of modern Roman Catholic versions do not suggestthe fact. Fresh versions appeared at Dublin and Douay in1719 and 1730, which, however, obtained no currency. Manyrevisions and versions appeared in that century, till by 1800there were seven in circulation. Tenth Lindisfarne and Rushworth Gospels; text of twoEnglish glosses, or word-for-word translations, inter-lined. The two copies of the Latin gospels made atLindisfarne and Birr have been the foundation of anedition printed by the Surtees Society, of which volumesreproducing Matthew and Luke
