Dancers rehearse a bicycle ballet to celebrate Car Free Day

Dancer Sarah Alexander and other performers rehearse their Bicycle Ballet for Car Free Day on Friday 22 September 2006. Bicycle Ballet was commissioned by the Arts Council and performed on the seafront at Brighton with 100 bicycles and a cast drawn partly from the local cycling community The ballet is described as a spectacular show reminiscent of Busby Berkeley but tempered by the reality of urban cycling such as manoeuvering through traffic and having to lock up or loose your precious steed.
