I trust that the title of this littlepaper will not lead the members to ex-pect that any definite results have yetbeen obtained in this direction, but Ithink some brief explanation of what hasalready been done, with a note of thedifficulties to be still overcome, may beinteresting and may also incite some ofour friends present to investigate thisimportant branch of x-ray research. There are three directions in which itmay prove possible to obtain a definiteshadow of the interior of the body i. e.,the softer tissues outside the bones, viz.,the photographic plate, the fluoroscopicscreen and the x-ray tube. i.
