The "guardians" (cowboys, or traditional herdsmen) capture a bull to be branded as part of the festivities in honor of The Marquis Folco de Baroncelli de Javon. Every year on the 26th of May he is honored in the final day of the festivities of the Annual Roma Pilgrimage with a bull run, jousting and other traditional games and activities. He helped grant the Gypsies the right to honor their patron Saint Sarah in public. He also instrumental in the preservation of traditional culture of the Camargue region.
