An iron long sword, late Parthian or early Sasanian period, 1st - 4th century, Blade approximately cm wide and cm long, the edges slightly over-ground by cleaning and restoration, especially towards the point, the point blunted at a later date. Almost lozenge-shaped quillons approximately 8 mm wide with inserted tang. A cylindrical iron tube topped by a spindle-shaped bronze pommel is fitted over the tang.
