Robert Loughran, commanding officer of the “Argonauts” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147, is directed to the catapult on the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Loughran completed his 1,000th carrier arrested landing, or "trap", on board Nimitz Aug. 28.
