The general health of the fat and lean stock was excellent through-out the year; 131 deaths occurred from anthrax, the majority shortlyafter arrival from Colombia. During the dry season 10,000 doses ofantianthrax serum were shipped to Colombia, and the vaccinationtook place there 20 days prior to shipping. This did not, however,materially reduce the deaths from this disease after arrival. The breeding herds at ISIiraflores and Monte Lirio have been inexcellent health during the entire year, the only deaths occurringbeing the results of accidents. During the months of November, December,January, and February 501 deaths occurred from cholera broughtin by stock from Colombia, and in addition 48 deaths occurred enroute. One hundred and ninety-one other deaths occurred at thefarm from various causes. The stock at the poultry farm was fair
