It is one of the most beautiful trees of ournorthern forests, as is attested by the fact thatit is more abundantly than any other tree,excepting the following species, transplantedfrom the forests to the door yards of countryhomes for ornamental purposes, where itshandsome foliage is a constant delight. Thelarge bunches of small white flowers whichterminate its branchlets in early summer addgreatly to its beauty and offer abundant nectarto the searching bees.
