Boats moored on the banks of the River Loire at Gien in France


great deal of Gien town centre was destroyed during the Second World War during German occupation with major restoration works being carried out post-war. The stone bridge crossing the Loire river was constructed in the 18th century. It has 12 arches and a slight humpback.
