Liggit, June 19, 1920: "I find that there is a wide difference of opinion among florists as to what is and what is not a good plant. Some wish to have their plants nicely finished when they arrive, while others care notliing for this, preferring that the plants have that firm foundation that enables one to build upon it securely. Of course, I am referring especially to those plants that are intended for grow- ing on. These plants are generally sent out from small pots. When well grown they may be divided into two classes, the highly finished and the stocky, with a connecting link of inter- mediates. "Personally I prefer tlic stocky class, because when jiropcrly grf)wn thev are apt to have heavy roots and short or closely jointed wood. Experience shows that such plants give the best results. But it is not what I prefer that counts. It is what the purchaser prefers. Here is where the difficulty arises. Over and over again I have Wire Hanging Baskets. The Wise Florist Will Buy NOW!
